But this year, the Patriots are back in the final again with Tony Brady aiming to become the first player to win six Super Bowl rings.

Brady is also set to become the first NFL player to spend 20 seasons with the same team.

The opponents for in the season-ending showpiece are the Los Angeles Rams, owned by Arsenal majority shareholder Stan Kroenke.

The Super Bowl is the finale of the National Football League (NFL) – and it’s the biggest annual sporting event in the US calendar.

Super Bowl games are notoriously long, lasting on average over three hours and 44 minutes.

The Patriots have won five Super Bowls – all under the team of quarter-back Brady and head coach Bill Belichick.

In the AFC Championship game, the Patriots overcame the Kansas City Chiefs in a 37-31 victory.

While in the NFC, the Rams edged the New Orleans Saints in a controversial 26-23 win.

Where is Super Bowl 53 being played?

The contest will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

It’s the third time Atlanta have hosted the Super Bowl.

It has been 19 years since the Super Bowl was played in Atlanta, whose metropolitan area boasts a population of nearly six million.
