10:55 UPDATE: Zidane to Chelsea backed
Zinedine Zidane has been tipped to replace Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea by Robert Pires.
He told Bwin: “I think Zidane would be a very good appointment at Chelsea.
“He would demand respect from the Chelsea players and control the dressing room as a result of everything he has achieved both on the pitch as a player and on the bench as a manager.
“He’s a winner and a warrior. He’s had great success in the Champions League which is attractive to the Chelsea owner. It would be very good news for the Premier League if Zidane moved to England.”
10:30 UPDATE: Woodward’s Solskjaer decision
Man Utd staff are confused by Ed Woodward’s decision to delay naming Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the club’s next permanent manager.
United have been in fine form under Solskjaer in the time since, though, winning 12 of their first 15 games under his guidance.
And the Evening Standard say United staff are wondering why Woodward has not named Solskjaer as the club’s next permanent manager already.
However, it is claimed that Woodward is giving himself ‘breathing room’ in case United’s fine form tails off.
10:05 UPDATE: Liverpool want Gomez
Liverpool are ready to move for Maxi Gomez this summer.
The Sun say the Reds are eyeing the Celta Vigo star, 22, as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his attacking ranks.
However, Liverpool face competition from Chelsea for the £35million rated striker.
Former Reds striker Luis Suarez has told his former pals at Liverpool that Gomez could be the ideal signing this summer.
09:45 UPDATE: Mauro Icardi to Man Utd on
Mauro Icardi will be offered to Manchester United this summer as Inter Milan look to offload the striker.
Express Sport understands Inter are keen to land Romelu Lukaku – meaning a stunning swap deal could be on the cards.
The Italian giants would be willing to let Icardi make the switch the other way, with the striker out of favour at Inter.
Icardi, 26, has been dumped as captain and hasn’t featured for almost a month.
Inter would rather sell the Argentina international to a Premier League side over a Serie A rival.
09:15 UPDATE: Yannick Carrasco still wanted by Arsenal
Arsenal are interested in signing Yannick Carrasco after failing to land the Belgium international in the January window.
Express Sport understands the Gunners failed to agree a loan fee with Chinese side Dalian Yifang earlier this year.
The former Monaco and Atletico Madrid winger is keen to return to Europe this summer and Arsenal are keen.
However, Carrasco’s £8.8 million a year wage could be a problem for the Gunners, who are short on cash.
