Toy Story is one of Pixar’s most beloved franchises. After Toy Story 3, fans weren’t sure when, or if, they would get another sequel. But on November 6, 2014, Toy Story 4 was officially announced by Disney.
Plenty of viewers took to Twitter to express their thrill at the new trailer.
The clip is only 30 seconds long but gives fans a glimpse into Buzz Lightyear’s latest predicament.
Woody and Bo Peep are at a fun fair waiting for Buzz.
But Buzz has become a prize at the very carnival they’re attending.
He gets into a spat with two other plush toys who think Buzz is trying to muscle in on their ‘top prize’ spot.
The clip likely fits into the plot at the point where Bonnie takes her toy son a road trip.
The plot synopsis reads: “Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie.
“So when Bonnie’s beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky (voiced by Tony Hale), declares himself as “trash” and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy.
“But when Bonnie takes the whole gang on her family’s road trip excursion, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep (voice of Annie Potts).
“After years of being on her own, Bo’s adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior.
“As Woody and Bo realize they’re worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find that’s the least of their worries.”
All the usual characters are returning to the fourth instalment.
This includes Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Annie Potts as Bo Peep, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Blake Clark as Slinky Dog, Wallace Shawn as Rex, John Ratzenberger as Hamm, Estelle Harris as Mrs Potato Head, Jodi Benson as Barbie, Michael Keaton as Ken, Jeff Pidgeon as Aliens, Kristen Schaal as Trixie, Bonnie Hunt as Dolly, Timothy Dalton as Mr Pricklepants, Jeff Garlin as Buttercup, Laurie Metcalf as Mrs Davis, and Lori Alan as Mrs Anderson.
New to the franchise are Tony Hale as Forky, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele as Ducky and Bunny, and Keanu Reeves in an unnamed role.
Toy Story 4 is out in cinemas on June 21, 2019.
