Excitingly positive early reactions to the movie bode well, but fans are consumed with hope for a last0minute appearance by Henry Cavill as Superman. Last year, Cavill’s agent Dani Garcia posted a silhouette image of herself and the actor on a set. He appeared to be in a costume and his hair definitely had a curl over his forehead. She tagged the picture: “Who is this man? What are we saying? What are we planning? Oh, it’s goood… You’ll thank me later.” Revenge Of The Fans also reported: “I’ve been told by a trusted source that Cavill is set to appear in Shazam!”
But then the actor appeared to part ways with the entire Justice League franchise. Is there still hope?
Geeks WorldWide spotted a tweet from superfan KC Walsh following the latest round of screenings for the next DC movie.
He wrote: “Hearing more great things out of the latest #Shazam test screenings. Including a super cameo that is both concerning and exciting.”
The reference to “super” can only mean one thing and he was quick to confirm when asked for more details. Unfortunately, these may not be the news fans are waiting for…
Walsh added: ‘They only show his chest, not his face… It definitely means they couldn’t get Cavill to come back.”
Cavill has publicly signed on to the new Netflix show The Witcher, with multiple seasons expected. Of course, this doesn’t completely rule him out of a Superman return, especially if it’s just for a quick cameo while Warner Bros continue to reshape the DC Extended Universe.
The test screening leaks also confirmed exciting news about another upcoming DCEU addition.
Asked if there was “Any tease of The Rock?”, walsh replied: “Black Adam but not necessarily The Rock.”
A follow-up question enquired: “How much we gonna see Adam?” and Walsh added: “Very, very little, just background.”
Black Adam is set to join the DCEU, but whether it is first as an adversary or headlining his own standalone movie remains unclear.
