Reddit Soccer Streams was shut down earlier this year following stern warnings from the Premier League.
Over 400,000 users had subscribed to the Reddit thread, which offered links to live streams for football.
The service was illegal and in breach of Reddit’s user agreement with the Premier League sending a copyright infringement warning to the moderators of the popular thread.
In January, a moderator said: “We’ve officially reached critical mass.
“I regret to inform you all that a few days ago, the Reddit Admins got in touch with us about an impending ban of this subreddit if changes weren’t made.
“The only way to save it, from our perspective, was to cease all user-related activity here.”
It comes after over 200,000 illegal streams of Premier League matches were blocked in 2017/18 season.
TV rights for this season and the next three have cost Sky Sports and BT Sport roughly £4.6billion.
Amazon have also got involved with their first broadcast package to begin in August this year.
They did not disclose how much they have paid for their deal, which will see Amazon show every game in the first round of midweek fixtures in December, plus every match on Boxing Day as well.
But while you can’t use Reddit anymore, there is a way to stream football legally online.
