The Premier League returns today for another weekend of fixtures – and we can expect plenty of goals!
The north London derby sees Tottenham take over Arsenal in a clash that has witnessed plenty of stunning goals down the years.
It means Harry Kane – Spurs’ star striker and top goalscorer with 15 in the Premier League – will face-off against an Arsenal defence that has been exposed on a number of occasions this season.
Kane can leapfrog Arsenal top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if he nets two goals more than the striker at Wembley today.
Aubameyang boasts 16 goals for the season and found the net in his last outing as Arsenal stunned Bournemouth 5-1 on Wednesday.
Understandably, the top two goalscorers in the Premier League this season come from the top two clubs in the table.
Sergio Aguero will hope to extend his lead on Mohamed Salah when City face Bournemouth today.
Aguero boasts 18 goals for the campaign – already bettering his tally from last term (17).
The Argentine has scored 20+ goals in four of his seven full seasons at City.
As for Salah, he will hope to increase his tally when Liverpool face Everton on Sunday.
But there is a big worry for Liverpool right now as they battle City for the Premier League title.
Their front three of Salah (17 goals), Sadio Mane (14) and Roberto Firmino (9) have scored 40 of Liverpool’s 64 goals this season.
Should one of the trio suffer injury in the season run-in it could severely hamper Liverpool’s attacking prowess.
Indeed, Xherdan Shaqiri is their next highest-scorer in the league this season with six, with James Milner and Virgil van Dijk on three.
