Pelicans told to sit Anthony Davis
New Orleans Pelicans must rest Anthony Davis for the remainder of the season if he isn’t traded, NBA insider Bobby Marks claims.
“If Anthony Davis is not traded by the deadline on Thursday, I’m sending him home and I don’t think we’ll see him for the rest of the season,” he said.
“I am not putting my best asset on the court for him to get a DeMarcus Cousins-type Achilles injury when I know I’m going to trade him in July.
“You’re selling a vision of a player who doesn’t want to be there.”
NBA trade deadline LIVE: Lakers are still tracking Wizards star Trevor Ariza
Lakers tracking Trevor Ariza
The Los Angeles Lakers are still tracking Washington Wizards star Trevor Ariza after being linked with the forward in recent weeks, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski claims.
Wojnarowski wrote on Twitter: “Lakers are interested, but Trevor Ariza and Washington Wizards remain in each’s future plans, league sources tell ESPN.
“Ariza is enthusiastic about re-signing with Washington.
“Wizards’ trades creating financial flexibility that’ll make it easier to bring Ariza back on new deal.”

Kawhi Leonard to Clippers backed
Kawhi Leonard will leave the Toronto Raptors this summer and most likely join the Los Angeles Clippers, NBA pundit J.E. Skeets claims.
“My gut, even as a Raptors fan, I think he’s ultimately leaving,” he said. “I think he’s going to go to California and the Clippers are up front.
“They’ve got to go very very deep into the playoffs, which would probably be a finals appearance in order to keep Kawhi.
“Unless Masai [Ujiri, Raptors president] has something up his sleeve and is going to get another big name, [which is] unlikely.
“I think he might go. I think the Clips are set up nicely, they’ve got Jerry West and he just makes things happen.”

Anthony Davis to Lakers update
The Los Angeles Lakers are not expecting to sign Anthony Davis before the deadline, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski claims.
“New Orleans GM Dell Demps has had no communication today with Lakers president Magic Johnson on LA’s most recent trade offer for Anthony Davis, league sources tell ESPN,” Wojnarowski posted.
“Lakers running low on hope that Pelicans will engage them before Thursday’s 3PM trade deadline.
“Johnson wanted the Pelicans to start making counterproposals to offers on Davis, threatening to end talks unless New Orleans showed a willingness to engage in a back-and-forth on reaching a deal.”
NBA trade deadline LIVE: LeBron James took to Instagram to rant
LeBron James rant
LeBron James took to Instagram to rant after the Dallas Mavericks traded Harrison Barnes DURING a game.
The Mavericks sent Barnes to the Sacramento Kings for Zach Randolph and Justin Jackson.
Barnes was sitting on the bench when the news broke – and James couldn’t believe the trade.
“So let me guess this is cool cause they had to do what was best for the franchise right???” James wrote on his Instagram page.
“Traded this man while he was literally playing in the game and had ZERO idea.
“I’m not knocking who traded him because it’s a business and you have to do what you feel what’s best but I just want this narrative to start to get REAL CHANGE and not when a player wants to be traded or leaves a franchise that he’s a unselfish/ungrateful player but when they trade you, release, waive, cut etc. etc. it’s best for them!
“I’m ok with both honestly, truly am. Just call a spade a spade!!”

Washington Wizards complete trade
Washington Wizards have traded Otto Porter Jr. to the Chicago Bulls for Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker.
The Wizards also sent Markieff Morris to the New Orleans Pelicans for Wesley Johnson.
Shams Charania of The Athletic tweeted: “The Washington Wizards are sending Otto Porter to the Chicago Bulls for Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @WatchStadium.
“Sources: The Wizards have moved off Otto Porter and Markieff Morris tonight to go under luxury tax threshold – but have no plans to move All-Star Bradley Beal before the deadline.”

Lakers backed to sign Jimmy Butler
The Lakers have been tipped to sign Jimmy Butler in the summer by NBA expert Chris Broussard.
“Those two (James and Davis) are one heck of a foundation,” Broussard told the Herd.
“I don’t think you necessarily need three. If you have got two stars and good pieces around them I think that’s good.
“I also think Jimmy Butler, he is a guy the Lakers should look at.
“Philadelphia have got Tobias Harris, that gives them insurance that if they don’t want Jimmy Butler they still have a big three.
“Jimmy is not going to have the market he thinks he is. It is the same story that he is wrecking havoc in the locker room.
“You look at the common thread where he has been. Some had better players than him but they were younger than him.”
