With the recent US government shutdown, Melania Trump has rarely been seen in recent weeks. Except for a snap of herself posted on Instagram last week, the First Lady has seemed to have kept a relatively low profile. However, today, the 48-year-old was all smiles as she, Donald Trump, 72, and Barron Trump, 12, left the White House. The trio were pictured en route to Palm Beach, Florida.
A former fashion model, Melania’s style often makes headlines.
And today, the First Lady opted for a head to toe tan ensemble.
Wrapping up warm, she sported a camel-toned mid-length coat, which was buttoned up.
She teamed the look with a similar-coloured roll-neck jumper.
The public figure also sported a pair of tan knee-length heeled boots.
Adding a different shade to her outfit, Melania accessorised the look with a vibrant red handbag.
She had styled her hair in loose curls.
Meanwhile, Donald opted for a black coat and trousers, as well as a white shirt and red tie.
The pair held each other’s hands as they made their exit, with Barron walking behind his parents.
Last week, Melania shared a snap of herself taking a walk at what’s believed to be the White House.
Sharing the snap on Instagram with her 2.7 million followers, she addressed the next steps for her Be Best campaign.
“Our work in the East wing continues into 2019 with online safety, fighting opioid abuse & supporting the well-being of children everywhere! #BeBest,” she wrote.
Melania opted for an all-black look – comprising of a roll-neck jumper and trousers which had a tapered leg.
She also donned a white coat, which the First Lady had draped over her shoulders.
The former University of Ljubljana student was seen looking into the distance in a pair of sunglasses.
Melania Trump: Five facts about the USA’s First Lady
Mum-of-one Melania can speak more languages than any other First Lady before her: English, French, German, Italian, Serbian and of course her mother tongue, Slovenian.
This also makes her the only First Lady whose first language is not English.
After Jacqueline Kennedy, Melania is the second First Lady who is a practising Catholic.
She met Pope Francis as part of a foreign tour with her husband and stepdaughter Ivanka last year.
Melania was a successful model, posing for Sports Illustrated, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and GQ.
Her skills aren’t confined to print, and she appeared in a commercial for Aflac, an American insurance company, in 2005.
Melania’s parents are Amalija Knavs and Viktor Knavs, and the couple live together in Washington.
She has one sister, Ines, who is reported to live in New York and work as an artist.
On May 7 2018, Melania launched her flagship campaign as First Lady, BE BEST, which The White House describes as “an awareness campaign focused entirely around the well-being of children”.
There are three main strands to the initiative: well-being, social media, and opioid abuse.
