Twitter round-up

Jonathan: We just have to keep on winning and ensuring the deficit doesn’t got more than 1 point. Lets keep our heads and apply the pressure to City so they look over their shoulders and know we ain’t going away.

Ben: C’mon the Redmen, would be nice today for three points and LOADS more goals!

Mohamed: The weather in Liverpool is horrible. Windy and rainy. I hope we will win and not blame it on the weather afterwards.

Ben makes a good point. Liverpool are now nine goals behind Manchester City on goal difference. Worth extra point?

Can Reds sink the Clarets?

10:55: Liverpool have dropped momentum since opening up a healthy lead on City, which is now a four-point deficit following last weekend’s goalless draw in the Merseyside derby at Everton.

Boss Jurgen Klopp will keep everyone focused as his men look to reproduce the form which swept Watford aside 5-0 in their last home outing.

Morning…

10:50: Hello everyone and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the Premier League.

It’s an extremely exciting day at Express HQ. No, not because I have tickets to Cheltenham next week and plan on drinking my bodyweight in Guinness.

It’s actually because we have a shiny new offices!

New computers, desks, chairs and even little lockers to protect my valuables, should I ever receive any…

One irritation is the kettle being roughly 26km away from my seat.

Anyway, we’re here to see whether Liverpool claw back title rivals Manchester City, who went four points clear after beating Watford 3-1 yesterday.

Standby for line-ups!

LIVERPOOL vs BURNLEY

Defender Dejan Lovren could return to Liverpool’s squad after a two-month absence with a hamstring injury. Midfielder James Milner had been hampered by a muscle problem but is expected to be fit in time.

Defender Joe Gomez, out since December with a fractured leg, is likely to return after the international break while midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, sidelined since April by a serious knee injury, makes his playing comeback for the under-23s at Derby on Friday.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche looks set to have the same group of players to choose from as he did last time out. Midfielder Steven Defour, one of those absent from the 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace last Saturday, is unlikely to play again this season having had a calf operation. And winger Aaron Lennon, who underwent knee surgery in December, is not yet ready to make his comeback.
