08.05 UPDATE: Another loan exit on cards
Liverpool could today loan out Ben Woodburn to Championship side Hull for the rest of the season.
Woodburn returned to Anfield earlier this month having failed to make an impression on loan at Sheffield United.
And he will be hoping for more chances to continue his development if he joins Nigel Adkins’ side on a temporary basis.
Goal claim Woodburn is eager to get some experience by heading back down to the Championship.
07.45 UPDATE: Spending spree backed
Liverpool will splash the cash in the summer regardless of if they win the Premier League, claims Manchester United hero Andy Cole.
“They’ll go again in the summer, Liverpool will, because it doesn’t matter if you win the league because you’ve still got to try and better yourself,” Cole said.
“You’ve got to try and bring in players better than what you already have to strengthen for the next season because if Manchester City win the league or Liverpool win the league, guarantee one of them is going to turn around and say: ‘We need to add players because we lost the league or this and that.’
“That’s how competition gets better and that’s how those players become better players. They will go again, they definitely will go again.”
07.25 UPDATE: Divock Origi latest
Liverpool could wave goodbye to Divock Origi if a good enough offer comes in before the transfer window slams shut.
Wolves and Fulham were in the mix for December’s Merseyside Derby hero earlier in the month as they looked to sign a striker.
And while Jurgen Klopp will be happy for him to stay given Dominic Solanke’s move to Bournemouth, a deal could happen.
Liverpool will hold out for a decent figure, though, with Origi having the potential to score some more vital goals.
07.05 UPDATE: Lazar Markovic to leave?
Liverpool misfit Lazar Markovic could finally bring an end to his sorry stint on the books at Anfield.
Markovic failed to deliver on the potential which saw Brendan Rodgers pay Benfica £20m for him.
Spells at Fenerbahce, Sporting Lisbon, Hull and Anderlecht have not helped the winger to kickstart his career.
Besiktas are interested in getting Markovic on board, but they face a race against time to complete a deal.
07.00 UPDATE: Late Adrien Rabiot deal
Liverpool could make Adrien Rabiot their one and only signing of the January transfer window today.
Rabiot has been frozen out at Paris Saint-Germain having refused to sign a new contract at the Parc des Princes.
And Liverpool have been credited with a keen interest in the midfielder, who Barcelona have held talks with.
Liverpool could offer PSG a small fee to take Rabiot off their hands now, or strike a pre-contract agreement for the summer.
