Zion Williamson is expected to be the first pick of the 2019 NBA Draft, and the Knicks could end up as the team with the number one pick.

The Duke University star has set the college basketball scene on fire this year.

In his breakout year he has scored 439 points and recorded 183 rebounds so far this season.

If he joined the NBA now, he would be the second heaviest player in the league, as he is currently a whopping 285lbs, but his athleticism is staggering for a young man of his size.

On Friday, the Knicks traded away their Center Kristaps Porzingas in order to free up salary cap space. New York hope the decision will give them a better chance of securing free agents this summer.

Durant is expected to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Golden State Warriors and become a free agent this summer, while Irving has dropped multiple hints about leaving the Boston Celtics.

And while both will command a high salary, the Knicks will be able to afford both if they become available after trading Porzingas.

And Williamson admitted that he would love to team up with the pair.

“It would be dope to play with KD and Kyrie,” he said.

“But right now I’m enjoying college.

“Whichever team drafts me I’ll be ready to play hard and work.

Williamson also declared he was happy at college, and would still have gone if he was given the option to enter the draft last year.

“You do think about it,” he admitted, when asked about entering the NBA.

“But this is the only time I get to experience college.

“And even if I could’ve went straight from high school [to the NBA], I would’ve come to college.

“I feel like college is something I couldn’t miss out on.”
