The Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning in scarlet as she stepped out for mother Carole Middleton’s 64th birthday. The mum of three chose a floor length gown, by her personal favourite designer Alexander McQueen, which featured a delicate ruffled hemline. A pleated waistband highlighted Prince William’s wife’s slender figure, while darts on the sleeves added a boho edge. Ever the stylish royal, Kate, 37, chose matching red heeled shoes to compete her elegant look.

Kate had chosen to re-wear the garment after first showing it off at a garden party in Berlin in 2017.

Two years on, it remains in her closet and appears as trendy as ever.

The chiffon item came with a price tag of £2,075 at the time.

Ensuring the item was winter-ready, Kate this time wrapped up in a longline black blazer coat as she headed to her car.

Clearly ready to celebrate with her parent, she was spotted with a huge bag of goodies slung over her shoulder.

Kate’s mother Carole chose to celebrate her special day in Chelsea, London.

She was hosted by Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, and her husband James Matthews, as well as Carole’s husband Michael, for the cosy family night.

Kate was without husband Prince William.

Prince Charles’ eldest had perhaps stayed at home on childcare duties as his wife headed out.

Meanwhile, as well as proving resourceful with her clothing, Kate is following in the fashion footsteps of the Queen.

Queen Elizabeth’s glovemaker claimed they have finally “got” Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge to wear her gloves, after vowing to influence the royal to purchase her pieces.

Kate sported a pair of black Cornelia James mitts on her recent visit to Dundee, Scotland.

Cornelia James’ daughter, Genevieve Lawson, who runs her mother’s firm said in 2012 how she wanted to “get” Kate to wear her gloves.

Genevieve told the Daily Mail in 2012: “[Kate]’s so gorgeous. I have a plan to get her. I’m going to make the ultimate ski gloves — functional, but luxurious.

“They will be leather with possum fur, as possum isn’t endangered… a little fur cuff. How cute!”
