The is one of the biggest weeks in the National Hunt racing calendar, with nearly £5million on offer in prize money to the best British and Irish-trained riders.

There are 28 races taking place over four days of action, with the nags kicking off with Champions Day today, Wednesday is Ladies’ Day, then we have St Patrick’s Thursday before Gold Cup Day finishes the week off on Friday.

Native River is set to defend his crown after winning the Gold Cup last year, but will face tough competition from a host of challengers – most notably King George VI Chase winner Clan Des Obeaux and Irish-trained Presenting Percy.

Gordon Elliott, whose stable includes Grand National winner Tiger Roll, is seeking to retain his trainers title, while Davy Russell was last year’s top jockey.
