Chelsea fans fondly remember Terry thanks to his 19-year stint in the Blues first-team setup.
The former captain racked up a staggering 717 appearances after making his debut way back in 1998.
And he led them to 17 pieces of silverware, including securing Champions League glory in 2012.
Terry left Chelsea 18 months ago, before playing out the final season of his career with Aston Villa.
The 38-year-old is Chelsea through-and-through though and regularly shares reflections on his time there.
And he accompanied it with the message: “14 years ago today @chelseafc @championsleague Chelsea Vs Barcelona.
“Great game and my favourite goal. The night out wasn’t bad after either.”
An Instagram troll piped up by commenting, inaccurately, that Barcelona had come out on top in the match, saying: “U lost ya clown.”
However, Terry was having none of it and hit back with a savage five-word reply of “You muppet we won 4-2.”.
One eagled-eyed Chelsea fan who saw the interaction on Instagram shared a screenshot of it on Reddit.
And supporters were delighted to see Terry defending their team.
“Never ending love for JT. What a guy,” wrote one user of the r/ChelseaFC subreddit.
“Ahaha love myself some JT. Oozes class but when he has to give it he gives it,” said another.
A third commented “Go on JT!!”, with a fourth adding “Captain” accompanied by two blue hearts.
One Chelsea supporter quipped: “Get ya facts right aye!”
Terry is now part of Dean Smith’s backroom staff at Championship side Villa.
And he will be on the bench on Sunday when they face arch-rivals Birmingham at St Andrew’s.
