Manchester United beat Fulham 3-0 to move into the top four for the first time since the opening weekend of the season.
Chelsea can leap back ahead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side if they get at least a point against Manchester City on Sunday.
United are on a remarkable run of form, winning ten of their last 11 matches in all competitions.
Arsenal earned their first away win since November with victory at Huddersfield.
But Emery acknowledges that it won’t be easy to break into the top four.
“Day 26? We are at the moment one point off Manchester United,” Emery said.
“If we ask is it easy or difficult, it’s difficult.
“But we can and day 26 we are on our way. Our motivation is very great and every player wants to struggle every match and be consistent over 38 matches.
“We are moving closer to the other clubs.”
Manchester United were 11 points off the top four when Solskjaer took over as caretaker boss in December.
But the Norwegian has got United players smiling again, with their style reflecting their happiness.
The Red Devils also look confident, with the likes of Paul Pogba flourishing under Solskjaer.
And the former striker has praised his team, and is adamant he is only focusing on Manchester United.
“I’m not concerned about anyone else, the other teams,” Solskjaer said.
“But yes I could have imagined taking as many points as we have.
“To go on that pitch and wear that shirt, with the quality they have got, the players must be confident we can win a football game.”
